Tuna quiches, Lag Baomer, and our morning routine

Issue 33 // JAM

Hi ,

Huge thank you to those of you that replied, shared, suggested, schmoozed! What a fun week sifting through the JAM inbox. Keep your eyes peeled – we’re working on organizing all of your recs into a huge guide to treating stains, and a giant list of shalosh seudos ideas.

And a reminder: please (continue to) daven for Yosef Ezriel ben Chaya Michal and Elazar ben Reuma, two victims of the Meron tragedy who still need tefillos. Take a minute to say a tefillah now.

JUST A Q

I think laundry is gonna be the theme of JAM (kinda reflective of life, isn't it?)

Reader M wants to know:

Can you ask if anyone has any tips on getting yellow sweat stains out of whites?? (Bonus if its something to add to the load without having to spray each shirt:)

JUST DESSERTS

I’m on a mission to elevate our shalosh seudos, the highest moments of Shabbos – our yichud room with Hashem – our “dessert.”

And this past week I made something quick, easy, and super yummy. Light enough for Shabbos afternoon, filling enough to count as supper for the kids who were sent to bed immediately after 😊

Individual Tuna Quiches

Mix:

  • 2 cans of tuna

  • 1/2 cup mayo*

  • 1 egg

  • Salt, pepper, garlic, and parsley to taste

  • Optional: handful of shredded cheese (I did half dairy, half pareve)

Cut phyllo dough into squares and place into muffin tins. (I alternated spots so they wouldn’t bake into each other.)

Scoop tuna mixture into the dough and bake!

*(I’m a measure-with-your-heart kind of girl, but I measured! For you!)

JAM PARTNER

Why are we spending so much on therapy… yet still in crisis? 😖

People spend years in therapy and are still struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or eating disorders. That’s not okay. Especially when treatments THAT WORK exist.

JUST THINGS FOR YOU

🔥REC: Bring Lag Baomer home. Our annual tradition is having the littles build a “bonfire” using all our yellow/orange/red MagnaTiles and legoes, and then blasting Lag Baomer music (the best!)

❄️ PRODUCT: Mini clip-on fan. A fan like this one will keep your baby cool even when they’re ensconced in a stroller in the summer sun.

😋HACK: Make this 5-minute dessert. Roll out puff pastry, smear with oil, and sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll up into rugelach, or – this week’s Friday night dessert – make a few thin rolls and then slice for teeny cinnamon buns. 🤤

JUST FOR LAUGHS

MOTHERHOOD MUSING

To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.

That’s all for today!💜
