Ambassador? Hamper rec and ices drips
Issue 38 // JAM

Hi ,
The tefillos continue… and let’s keep them going.
And today might be the day you most need the iced coffee we shared last week.
JUST AN INVITE
Something massively fun and exciting is coming soon to JAM.
We’re looking for ambassadors that will help us bring it to as many women as possible.
So, if you want…
Behind the scenes sneak peeks
Voting power on some undecided aspects
And you’re willing…
To share about the upcoming event on a texting/email/WhatsApp group or other platform,
just reply “AMBASSADOR” and you’ll get to join the inner circle.
JUST A Q
Reader E, morah of 2-year-olds wants to know:
👉 What’s the best way to deal with a 2 year old who has a biting habit - he'll bite a child who has something that he wants, etc. He's still young, my thinking is that he just can not control his impulses. It's probably age appropriate, but still, it really hurts to get bitten...
READERS RESPOND: How do I keep my kids at the Shabbos table?
If you involve them they'll want to stay. Get a weekly parsha sheet with age-appropriate riddles/questions and go round the family with it. Buy a special package of jellies or whatever, for correct answers. Anything that's a family activity makes it more likely that the kids will stay. On the other hand, if there's just adult talk and "boring" divrei Torah why would any kid choose that over toys? -M
We have some sort of candy on the table, whenever a kid sits and eats one of the Shabbos foods nicely and if they sing along by zemiros they can take a candy . We also say a story after the second course. -C
How do I keep kids at the Shabbos table…? I don’t. Why should I? They want to be there, great. They don’t? No problem. They have to eat something of substance and then they’re free to do what they want. We have one rule: the Shabbos table is the Shabbos table. If you can sit nicely and participate, great. If you want to wrestle your brother, downstairs you go. Before you figure out HOW to keep them at the table, figure out WHY you want to keep them at the table. I’m at a later stage already. I never once pushed my kids to stay at the table. Now I can’t get them to stop shmoozing and bentch! Surest way not to have a beautiful Shabbos table is to try to force one. -I
We all play “hi low hero”! The kids love it! We go around the table and everyone tells us a high they had that week, a low they had that week and who was their hero! An absolute favorite and highlight of the week! -R
JUST DESSERTS
I’m on a mission to elevate our shalosh seudos, the highest moments of Shabbos – our yichud room with Hashem – our “dessert.”
This week’s shalosh seudos will be repeated. It was gorgeous, delicious, and refreshing.
Sushi nachos
Toast wonton wrappers in the oven. Cube sushi-grade tuna (you can play with cooking the tuna, or using salmon if you prefer).
Shortly before serving (~an hour) toss the tuna cubes with soy sauce and sesame oil. Load up the wonton crips with tuna, cucumbers, mango, avocado, or the combination of your choice. Drizzle with spicy mayo and dig in!
JUST FOR YOU
🗼REC: Use a stackable hamper. All the pros of a sectional hamper, with a much smaller footprint. I bought mine in-store, but it’s similar to this.
🍧HACK: Use popsicle protection. Popsicle drips leaving everything sticky? Slide a cup cover onto the popsicle to catch the drips and keep your little ones and floor clean(er).
