After school activities, boots, and avocados

Issue 51 // JAM

Hi!

I’m SORRY! There were two errors in the cookie recipe I shared last week.

It was super fun, because so many of you wrote in as you were baking to check in, and I love hearing from you, but be”H won’t do it again!

Mix

1.5 cups oats

1.5 cups almond flour

2 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1/3 c coconut sugar

Add

1/2 c avocado oil

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

Stir in

¾ cup raisins

Roll into balls and flatten on a baking sheet. Bake on 350 for 11-12 mins until golden and then cool to set. Enjoy!

Also, the labels I ordered last week arrived and are great!

Lastly, I’m super excited to re-share two programs you’ve been writing in to ask about – see the JAM Partners section.

Reader L prefers this strainer which also doesn’t need to sit in the sink!

JUST IN TIME

The kids all tumble in at once, everyone’s overstimulated, and everyone needs you now. To ease that after-school chaos, prep something that keeps them engaged so they need you a little less while you get settled and focus on the neediest one first.

Tip: Have the activity ready and say, “There’s something for you on the table!” to spark curiosity and give them a reason to go see.

Try:

  • Sensory play: Play dough or kinetic sand (our favorite!)

  • Activity sheets: Coloring pages for the littles, word searches for the big kids

  • Snacks: Snackle boxes, fruit skewers or fun-shaped fruit, or a cozy treat (hot cocoa!)

  • Books: Stack a few near the couch with blankets and stuffed animals

JAM PARTNER

So many of you loved the free Sarno class. The full course started Sunday, but you can still get in, access the recording, and get a just-for-JAM discount using code EX100 for $100 off!

I've been loving the Pulse of Womanhood virtual retreat about the depth and wisdom of our cycles. Pessy's breadth of knowledge and resonance with what she's teaching makes it an incredible experience.

Tomorrow (Weds) is the last day to get FREE access to the live closing call + all recordings.

JUST FOR YOU

🥑HACK: Keep avocados ripe. Avocados are perfectly ripe… but you don’t need them today? Wrap them in tinfoil and keep them in the fridge – they’ll last up to two weeks!

🥾TIP: Keep boots fresh. If boots get damp or sweaty, stick a dryer sheet inside overnight for fresh footwear in the morning.

💖REC: Discover true peace of mind. I owe all of my connection to and knowledge of Chovos Halevavos to Esther Kurtz. Now, she’s running a membership with Jewish Workshops including weekly live calls, and a chat community. I highly recommend you join me inside. Bitachon is THE key to the peace of mind you’re aching for, and there’s something incredibly special about exploring it with a group of sisters.
