Hydration, boxes, and the wild ride of motherhood
Issue 58 // JAM

Hi,
I hope you had a meaningful day. And if you didn’t yet have a chance, close your eyes for 30 seconds now and beg Hashem for the geulah. It’s time for His glory to be revealed in this world.
Amen.
Now, a disclaimer. One reader responded to last week’s jewelry cleaning tip:
Yikes! My aunt who works in jewelry (previously at Tiffany's) says soaking your diamonds in dish soap will loosen them and can make them fall out! Better to use tooth paste or baking soda and scrub with a toothbrush. (Also get your rings checked yearly to ensure the diamonds haven't loosened from washing your hands/dishes).
I’ve been cleaning my jewelry this way for years, without any problems bH, but diamonds aren’t something to take risks with.
Also, lately, I’ve been loving these. I’m super passionate about hydration – and about water being the best source. I never thought I’d be a “packet” person but (along with the best bottle ever, ofc) they’ve have really been helping me keep my water intake up which I struggle with in the winter! (I’ll take hot coffee all day long, thanks.)
As we wrap up 2025, I took a peek at what Amazon says were the top 6 products most-purchased by JAM readers this year.
So let’s do something fun.
Get entered to win one of these top-purchased products (one winner per product!) – to be revealed next week!
⭐ Reply and share 2-3 of your favorite Amazon purchases - home, clothing, organization, toys, food products, anything! - including 1-2 lines about what you love about each, and you’ll be entered to win!⭐
JUST A Q
One readers asks: What to do about a four-year-old boy hitting? Looking for mom-to-mom advice of what actually works, rather than "expert" input (I’ve tried all of it!)
Readers Respond: Re - 6yo bedwetting
So many readers generously wrote in with advice, tips, personal experience, and reassurance. Thank you! 🥰 Feel free to reach out for a more comprehensive version of the replies.
First some reassurance: it can be totally normal at this age, and the issue can resolve with time + development.
Professionals. Definitely start with your pediatrician. Medicine might be the right answer, or they can point you to the correct specialist: a pelvic floor therapist, urologist, occupational therapist (if it’s a reflex integration issue), or professional support for anxiety, if relevant.
Resources. Mishpacha’s article
Tools. Try a bedwetting alarm (recommended by readers: bedwetting alarm, wireless bedwetting alarm, or TheraPee alarm + interactive software)
This homeopathic remedy got results in an 11 year old after two bottles
Try the M.O.P. program by Dr. Hodges.
Exercises. Have the child do exercises to strengthen the lower back, such as: lie on his back and do 10 snow angels 2x a day, moving arms and legs together to a count of five open and five closed.
Practical tips. Minimize water in the late afternoon + night. Take the child to the bathroom an hour after they fall asleep, and before you go to bed. Use Miralax to ensure the child is not constipated.
Readers Recommend
This for jewelry cleaning - thanks Reader P!
This bath bumper - Thanks Reader R!
I did this once by mistake, and it was the coolest thing I ever saw, so we now do it on purpose :) Using a pin, poke a hole in a glowstick and wave it around quickly in all directions. Then, close the lights and enter what I can only describe as a planetarium-like starry wonderland. It only lasts for the day and I have not found that the liquid stains any surfaces or fabrics. - thanks Reader I!
More two person games:
Agricola is great fun with 2 players, but can also be played with more

JUST FOR YOU
🫙HACK: Open your jars easily. Jars stuck shut? Stick a knife up into the underside of the cover — between the cover and the glass — and push gently against the top until you hear a soft release of air. Then, turn the cover and voila! (Thanks Reader C for sharing!)
📦REC: Don’t throw out your boxes. They really do look like a bus, or a ship, or a plane for kids. If you get a big one, pop your little kids inside with washable markers and let them create a wonderland. Older kids can take scissors, glue, and a stack of construction paper. Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts 😊
🛍️TIP: Shop sales. I love shopping end-of-season sales because, well you can’t beat the price drops! Also - we can very often get use of the discounted purchases still in the current season, with the pace of season-turnover in the stores.
Bondoux Baby has a gorgeous selection of beautiful and fun styles.
Here are some must-browse collections:
The Laylay pajamas on special sale now (purchase for this year, or next, but quick, sizes are selling out fast!). I especially love the Hello & heart print collections
The terry shapes collection (baby girl set, top, dress, preteen set) are super cute IRL. Start building your summer wardrobe!
So many winter items (coats, sets, and dresses) are on sale too, if you need to refresh or fill gaps to tide you over til Pesach.
