Instead of "I'll miss you," summer snacks and the weight of motherhood
Issue 90 // JAM

Hi!
Whether you’re a week into school, getting ready for first-day goodbyes, or not quite there yet… I loved this tip: focus on the reunion, not the goodbye. So instead of “I’ll miss you so much,” —> “I can’t wait to see you later, I’m so excited to hear all about your day!” 💕
Also, two things I’m absolutely loving:
This personalized calendar builder by Momento: so simple and easy to use with the just enough customization options to make things beautiful — but not complicated. Was the perfect find for a meaningful gift, check it out if you’re looking for something for yourself, MIL, or grandmother.
This DIY sukkah craft that does not look like a DIY sukkah craft: magnificent Ushpizin Lucite art kit. An amazing activity for the kids and Sukkah-enhancer.

JUST FOR YOU
🎈REC: Try a different version of lunch box notes. For kids who don’t read yet or will be embarrassed to unpack a note, or for moms who are packing bags in a hurry there are other ways to send a virtual hug and show your child you’re thinking of them in middle of the day. Add a sticker to their snack bag or a surprise Dollar Tree prize to their bag for a midday smile.
🎨HACK: Find out how your kids day was. Not by asking “how was your day” (ofc).
Start with the easiest questions:
Who was absent today?
What did you eat first by lunch?
Was anything weird today?
Once they’re talking, ask:
How was your day on a scale of 1-10? (And then, what would've made it one point higher?)
What made you laugh today?
Was it a loud day or a quiet day in your class?
Hang these on the fridge if you’ll need a reminder.
🍎TIP: Have a Fully in Balance Tishrei with a FREE Kit. It’s coming: a month of yamim tovim, scrambled routines... and Dalia Brunschwig’s Tishrei Kit to help you get to Simchas Torah proud of the choices you’ve made (and with some energy left!). Inside: delicious recipes, a meal planning workbook, fast prep and break-fast guide, Yom Tov tips for eating well, and four short emails timed to land in your inbox when you need them.
