The best bedtime chart (customizable download)

Anything to make bedtime easier… right?

Every few months can be a new bedtime saga with the littles, as their schedules and stages change.

I created this bedtime chart for my 2-year old son with low hopes but it made a huge difference.

Here’s why:

🛏️ It helped him take ownership of the night. (Control! Which kid doesn’t love that 😁)

🛏️ It made it fun for him to complete a task (if he did, he could velcro it closed… a privilege for a 2 year old) and exciting for him to check what was on the agenda next.

🛏️ If he went to sleep nicely, he got to open all velcroes in the morning, so the chart worked all the way through the entire nighttime process.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Get your copy of the chart here:

  1. Customize it by…

Clicking File

Make a copy

Now, use your editable copy to

  • Add your child’s name and

  • Customize it further if your bedtime routine looks different.

→ Want to skip the customizing? Download this generic PDF and skip straight to print.

  1. Print it double-sided (if you want the fun “done” smiley faces, it will work without this as well).

  2. Snip the vertical lines in the bottom row, highlighted in yellow below, to create foldable flaps for each task

  1. Place velcro pieces on each task, with the corresponding velcro on the bottom flap so you can close the task to mark it complete.

Sending calm, cooperative bedtime wishes! 💜
