Goodness to come, summer toys, and nursing mom support

I hope Shavuos was beautiful and Leba Friedman’s tips helped you enjoy your cheesecake (or fruit or meat!).

JUST A THOUGHT

I used to hate the phrase “man plans and G-d laughs” – like He’s cackling at our frustration at plans that don’t pan out?!

Until my friend told me I’d gotten it all wrong.

“I had plans,” she explained “to take my son out for his birthday, to a restaurant, go all out, get dessert. But then he started begging – for my birthday can I get to eat ice cream? Please please? And of course,” she said, “I laughed.”

So yes, Hashem laughs.

He sees our tiny plans, the little amounts of goodness we hope for, and compared to the pools of bracha He has, waiting to rain down upon us… He laughs, “Oh just wait and see what’s to come My child, it’s so beyond your wildest dreams.”

Just your reminder that you’re His favorite child, and there is so much goodness to come.

JUST DESSERTS

I’m on a mission to elevate our shalosh seudos, the highest moments of Shabbos – our yichud room with Hashem – our “dessert.”
